be indexed annually for a duration of 2 years. This scholarship
is tax exempted. For the successful International student, Curtin
University will waiver the tuition fees for 2 years.
In addition
to the stipend, recipients are also allocated a travel allowance
towards their research activity.
Eligible
courses
The theme of
the research is measuring the performance of delivering and managing
constructed facilities - building and infrastructure. In particular,
the research will examine productivity and economic benefits of digital
modelling (BIM/ VDC) and integrated project delivery in the delivery
process. In this industry-based research, the team will develop performance
measures for the digital transfer of information throughout the project
life cycle, including asset management.
Experience
and/or interest in the link between productivity and economics growth in the
construction industry, especially as it relates to productivity gains through
improved digital interoperability and documentation quality would be a distinct
advantage.
It is
envisaged that one Australian and one Scandinavian student will be selected for
these two prestigious scholarships. One element of the research may
involve a comparative analysis of practices on Australian and Scandinavian
building or infrastructure projects. Accordingly, applicants with an
interest in travelling to Scandinavia/Australia coupled with appropriate
language skills are particularly encouraged to apply.
It is likely
that the successful applicants would have an academic and /or industry
background in engineering, built environment or business; though applicants
from other disciplines should not be discouraged from applying if they are
enthusiatic about this research theme.
