Curtin
University is pleased to offer the Alumni & Family Scholarship to citizens
of China, Hong Kong, Kenya, Mauritius, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South
Africa, Zambia or Zimbabwe. These countries make up some of Curtin's strongest
alumni and family bases, as well as areas where Curtin is proud to have growing
alumni ties.
This scholarship
category awards eligible students 25% of their first year of tuition. Curtin
University acknowledges the importance of this group in growing the University
and this scholarship aims to foster trust and confidence in Curtin University
as a place for students to further their studies, careers and life experiences.
Additionally,
eligible students who enrol in a Curtin English program before undertaking
their study at the University will receive a 10 per cent discount on Curtin
English fees.

- Applicants with credit for recognised
learning (CRL) are not eligible
- Must be commencing a full undergraduate or
master (coursework) degree in Semester 1, 2014 at Curtin University,
Western Australia
- Will be assessed for eligibility and when
accepting any Offer from Curtin University are required to read and sign
the respective terms and conditions
- Cannot apply for this scholarship if they
are a recipient of, or have applied for, any other Curtin University
scholarship
- Cannot defer the scholarship beyond
Semester 2, 2014
- Should note that course availability may
result in a student not being able to commence a program of their choosing
- Must present evidence relevant to their
application showing that either they, or a sibling or parent, are members
of Curtin's alumni or are current students at Curtin University. Evidence
of siblings and parents can be in the form of birth certificates
- Curtin English discounted fee: Applicants who are required to study
English prior to commencing their course at Curtin University must have
been successfully assessed as being eligible to enrol in the course for
which they have been awarded the scholarship in order to receive the 10 per
cent discount off their tuition fee at Curtin English.
Enrolment
requirements
Unless there
are exceptional circumstances:
Recipients must remain enrolled in initial course and major of study and maintain a full time enrolment of 100 credit points each semester at Curtin University.

A recipient
with a CWA below 50% or who breaches the scholarship conditions shall be
ineligible to retain the scholarship. Students must be undertaking a full
program, with no Credit for Recognised Learning applied. Leave of absence is
not permitted.
A student
who withdraws from their units or course of study or is terminated from studies
will become ineligible for continuation of the scholarship and will be required
to repay to the university any scholarship awarded for that study period.
This
Scholarship is not transferable into any other course, major or university.
- Must maintain a 'good standing' status
- Must maintain full time studies of 100
credit points each semester
- Must remain international students through
the duration of the scholarship period (penalities may apply for students
who withdraw or are terminated from their scholarship year)
- If students are enrolling into a Masters’
degree, it must be a Masters’ degree with a minimum of 400 credits. If the
Masters course is less than 400 credit points in duration then a 25%
scholarship off the first semester of fees is applicable.
