The Ruth Arnold & Jonathan Croft Memorial Bursary is intended to help students, who would be unable to complete their studies due to financial hardships and are currently studying at Curtin University.
Honouring the memory of Ruth Arnold & Jonathan Croft, the bursary was established by Maxine Croft, daughter of Ruth and Jonathan in their memory. Both her parents joined the army in World War II and missed out on the opportunity to further their education.

Scholarship Value
The Ruth Arnold & Jonathan Croft Memorial Bursary will provide the following support as a one off payment (based on a full time study load of 100 credits):
- A cash payment of $500
Eligible courses
All undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees are eligible.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be considered for the Ruth Arnold and Jonathon Croft memorial Bursary:
- Currently enrolled at Curtin University in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree
- Have a minimum course weighted average of 50
- Financial hardship
Conditions that need to be met to keep your scholarship
Unless there are exceptional circumstances such as, but not limited, to medical or family reasons, students must meet ALL of the following:
- Remain enrolled in initial course of study at Curtin University
Changes to enrolment
If a recipient intends to do any of the following they must also apply in writing to the Scholarships Office (scholarships@curtin.edu.au) for approval BEFORE the change.
Change from full time enrolment: The Scholarships Office will advise how the change will affect your scholarship.
Change of course: The Scholarships Office will advise how the change of course will affect your scholarship.
Leave of absence: Leave of Absence is not Permitted.
Withdrawal or Terminated from units or course: A student who withdraws from their units or course of study, or has been terminated from studies will become ineligible for continuation of the scholarship, will not receive any further payments and will be required to repay to the University the stipend awarded for that study period if applicable.
