Mauritius Undergraduate Scholarships





The Government of Mauritius will grant fifty (50) scholarships to suitably qualified candidates from African States, to further their undergraduate studies in Public tertiary educational institutions in Mauritius.


The Scholarships which is open to African students not beyond the age of 25 years old, will cover return tickets, stipend and tuition fees. Applications from prospective candidates should be submitted through the Embassy of Mauritius in Addis Ababa. Applications submitted through other Mauritius Embassies will also be accepted.

Scholarship value
The Scholarship will cover:
(i) a monthly living allowance of Rs 8,300 (USD 266 approx.)
(ii) tuition fees up to Rs 100,000 (USD 3205 approx.) yearly, and
(iii) airfare (economy class) by the most economical route to and from Mauritius at the start and the end of the studies.
1.2 The duration of the scholarship will be for a maximum of four (4) years depending on the course duration.

2. Eligibility
Students must have:-
a) passed in 3 subjects at General Certificate of Education "Advanced Level" / Cambridge International A level or at an equivalent level acceptable to the Scholarship panel; and
b) secured a conditional offer in a fully accredited and on-campus undergraduate programme on a full-time basis at a public tertiary education institution.

Candidates should be resident citizens of a member state of the African Union.
Scholarships shall not be awarded for:
(i) top-up degree programmes; (ii) foundation programmes; and
(iii) mixed modes (distance and on-campus learning)

Candidates should not be more than 25 years of age at the date of application.
