The University of Calgary offers a variety of scholarships, awards and bursaries to students entering directly from high school.

You don’t have to be admitted or conditionally admitted to UCalgary to apply for student awards; you simply require a University of Calgary student ID number which you receive when applying for admission.

Schulich Leader Scholarships 
Offered through the Schulich Foundation, these emphasize leadership and community engagement as well as academic excellence. Each high school nominates a Schulich Leader candidate. Contact your high school counsellor for more details and application information.

International Entrance Scholarships and Awards 
University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarships
Two scholarships valued at $15,000 each, renewable for three more years at $15,000 per year available for international students entering first year in an undergraduate degree program in the fall term.

University of Calgary International Entrance Awards
Up to 30 awards valued at $10,000 each available for international students entering first year in an undergraduate degree program in the fall term.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Entrance Scholarships
20 scholarships valued at $3,500 each available for students entering the University of Calgary in the fall term who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program with a minimum score of 35.
You must provide the Admissions Office with a transcript of your International Baccalaureate Diploma grades by August 1 of the year in which you are entering the university.

Eligibility for High School Awards
  • You must be admitted directly from high school into the first year of an undergraduate degree program for the upcoming fall term
  • Eligibility criteria differ for each award; review details carefully
  • Scholarship Average: required for all competitive high school awards and calculated using your 20-level high school grades (grade 11 for non-Alberta students) or 30-level grades (grade 12) if available. Comparable IB courses may also be used.
