The main purpose of the Scholarships is to support international students enrolled in a masters degree in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland.
Up to five Scholarships will be awarded annually, each for a period of one year, and will be of the value of up to $10,000 per annum. The Scholarships will be paid as a contribution towards tuition fees.
To take up and be paid the Scholarships the candidates must be enrolled and have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in a Master of Arts, Master of Creative Writing, Master of Literature, Master of Public Policy, Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Master of Theology or Master of Professional Studies in the Faculty of Arts, at The University of Auckland.
The Scholarships are tenable by international students only, and the basis of selection will be academic merit.
The Scholarships must be taken up by semester two in the year of the award. Where a Scholar is unable to take up the Scholarship in the year of the award, their offer will lapse. However they may re-apply in the following or subsequent years.
For the purpose of these Scholarships, academic merit is assessed as a Scholarships GPA or GPE obtained over the applicants’ most recent two years of full-time graded study (or equivalent). These Scholarships are highly competitive and as such are awarded to the very highest achieving student(s). The GPA or GPE of successful recipients of similar Faculty of Arts scholarships has been 7.50 or above.
