In order to encourage more outstanding international students to pursue a higher education in Chongqing, facilitate the internationalization of the higher education institutions in Chongqing, Chongqing Municipal Government launches the Chongqing Municipal Government Mayor Scholarship.

Details of Scholarship
1. First-class scholarship: 25,000-35,000/year
Standard (RMB/month) and delivering method:
Undergraduate students & general visiting students: 25,000 RMB (this amount of money from which 600 RMB for medical insurance is deducted will be delivered in 12 months)
Master degree students & general visiting students: 30,000 RMB (this amount of money from which 600 RMB for medical insurance is deducted will be delivered in 12 months)
Doctoral candidates & senior visiting students: 35,000 RMB (this amount of money from which 600 RMB for medical insurance is deducted will be delivered in 12 months)
2. Second-class Scholarship: 8,000-12,000/year (Medicare fee is included)
Standard (RMB) and delivering method:
Undergraduate students & general visiting students: 8,000 RMB (this amount of money from which 600 RMB for medical insurance is deducted will be delivered in 12 months)
Master degree students & general visiting students: 10,000 RMB (this amount of money from which 600 RMB for medical insurance is deducted will be delivered in 12 months)
Doctoral candidates & senior visiting students: 12,000 RMB (this amount of money from which 600 RMB for medical insurance is deducted will be delivered in 12 months)
3. All Municipal scholarship students must pay the corresponding tuition fees and accommodation fees before enjoying monthly delivery of Scholarship.
4. Chongqing Municipal Government Scholarship is to be applied year by year. Reapplication shall be made for the second year.
Eligibility
1. The applicant must be of non-Chinese citizenship and under the age of 40.
2. The applicant wish to study for at least one semester.
3. The applicant must satisfy other application requirements of Chongqing University for foreign students.
4. The applicant who wishes to apply for senior visiting student must hold the title of associate professorship or above.
How & When to Apply
The applicant shall submit application materials directly to the International Students Office of Chongqing University by post or email.
The application deadline: March 30.

2. Highest Diploma Obtained: Photocopy. Required. In Chinese or in English. Notorized version for diploma in other languages.
3. Transcripts: Photocopy. Required. In Chinese or in English. Notorized version for diploma in other languages.
4. Recommendation Letter: Original. Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors. Required for degree program applicants.
5. Study Plan: Required. No less than 400 words. In Chinese or in English.
6. Physical Examination Form: Photocopy. Required.
7. HSK or equivalent Chinese language proficiency certificate: Optional
8. Publications: Optional
9. Awards: Optional
10. Copy of Passport: Required
