The Georgetown University School of Foreign Service (MSFS) invites talented students from Sub-Saharan Africa to secure scholarship for the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) Program.

As of fall 2014, the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) at Georgetown University began offering a full-tuition scholarship for a talented graduate student from sub-Saharan Africa.

Anne McLaren Fellowships

The Anne McLaren Fellowships are aimed at outstanding female scholars in science, technology, engineering and/or medicine at the early stage of their academic careers. The Fellowships enable female researchers in STEM subjects – often under-represented in these areas - to establish independent research careers.

Fellowships normally commence in October 2015, but there is individual flexibility around this date.

2015 International Forum for Young Leaders

University of Bristol International Office Scholarship

The University of Bristol is delighted to announce ten International Office Scholarships for new international students for 2015 entry:

• Five scholarships of £8,500 each will be available for prospective undergraduate students.
  This is divided as follows: £3,000 in Year One, £3,000 in Year Two and £2,500 in Year Three. No awards will be made for subsequent years.
• Five scholarships of £8,500 each will be available for prospective Masters students.

Chevening/Bangor Partnership Award

Commonwealth Academic Fellowships

Commonwealth Academic Fellowships are offered to early career academics from developing Commonwealth countries, to enable them to spend between three and ten months undertaking research and updating their skills at a UK university.

These fellowships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

Macquarie University 20 International PhD Scholarships (iMQRES)

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) has announced that up to 20 full-time international research scholarships are available on a first-come-first-served basis for suitably qualified, newly commencing PhD candidates to enrol in Session 2, 2014.

These scholarships will be available for up to 3 years. They are only available to newly commencing full-time international PhD candidates who must enrol and take up this award before 15 December 2014. Failure to enrol before 15 December will result in forfeiture of award.

University of Melbourne International Postgraduate Coursework Award

The International Postgraduate Coursework Award (IPCA) is awarded to high achieving international students undertaking a graduate coursework degree. 

The University normally offers around 28 scholarships each year. 

Bond University Undergraduate Deans' Scholarships

Yoshida Scholarship Foundation

Over 80 women's human rights advocates from Botswana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe have participated in the LAWA Program, and we hope to include Fellows from additional countries in the future.

The 2015 United Nations International Law Fellowship Programme, Netherlands

The Fellowship Programme provides high-quality training by leading scholars and practitioners on a broad range of core subjects of international law.

In addition, the interactive nature of the training allows the participants to share experiences and exchange ideas, which promotes greater understanding and cooperation on contemporary issues of international law. 

University of Groningen Talent Grant: Eric Bleumink Fund, Netherlands

The Eric Bleumink Fund awards scholarships to talented students and young researchers from developing countries. Such scholarships enable them to further develop as individuals and to make important contributions to the development of their own countries.

Reach Oxford Scholarship

A number of Reach Oxford scholarships (formerly Oxford Student Scholarships) are offered to students from low-income countries who, for political or financial reasons, or because suitable educational facilities do not exist, cannot study for a degree in their own countries.

The Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts Visiting Senior Fellowship Program, 2015–2016

The Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts announces its program for Paul Mellon and Ailsa Mellon Bruce Visiting Senior Fellowships. Fellowships are for full-time research, and scholars are expected to reside in Washington and to participate in the activities of the Center throughout the fellowship period.

Lectures, colloquia, and informal discussions complement the fellowship program. Each visiting senior fellow is provided with a study. In addition, visiting senior fellows who relocate to Washington are provided with housing in apartments near the Gallery, subject to availability. Visiting senior fellows have access to the notable resources represented by the art collections, the library, and the image collections of the National Gallery of Art, as well as to the Library of Congress and other specialized research libraries and collections in the Washington area. 

Ernst and Grace Matthaei Scholarship

The Ernst and Grace Matthaei Scholarship was established by a bequest from Grace Moran Matthaei in 1982 to assist students who are undertaking research in the optical field. 

The University usually awards one scholarship per year. 

International Space University MSc Scholarship Program

International Space University is offering MSc scholarship to students who are unable to cover all of their tuition fees.

This aid is available to selected applicants and covers a portion of their fees. Students from Europe, USA, Canada and developing countries are eligible to apply for this MSc scholarship. Scholarship is granted on the basis of academic and professional merit, financial need and demonstrated financial need. Applicants for the MSc programs 2015 requesting scholarships should apply online on the ISU website before 15th March 2015.

RMIT PhD International Scholarship (RPIS)

RMIT PhD International Scholarships (RPIS) are funded by RMIT University and are awarded to International students undertaking a research Doctoral degree on the basis of academic excellence and research potential.

Google Research Awards

Google Research Awards are one-year awards structured as unrestricted gifts to universities to support the work of world-class full-time faculty members at top universities around the world.

Faculty members can apply for Research Awards by submitting a proposal to one of our two 2014 funding rounds. Our 2014 deadlines are April 15 and October 15. Recipients are selected through a comprehensive internal review process and notified of their awards within 4 months of the initial submission. Faculty members can apply for up to 150,000 USD in eligible expenses, but actual award amounts are frequently less than the full amount requested. Most awards are funded at the amount needed to support basic expenses for one graduate student for one year.

Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Fellowships

The University Center for Human Values invites applications for Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellowships for the academic year 2015-16.

Fellows devote an academic year in residence at Princeton to research and writing about topics involving human values in public and private life. The program is open to scholars in all disciplines provided their research plans qualify. In recent years fellows have been drawn from fields including philosophy, political theory, literature, history, classics, economics and law, but this list is not meant to be exhaustive.

BIGSSS-HWK Visiting Fellowship

The BIGSSS-HWK Visiting Fellowship is an international researcher mobility program offering a 6-month research stay at two renowned academic institutions in the social sciences: The Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) and at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences BIGSSS). 

Anita Borg Pass-It-On Awards Program

The Anita Borg Systers Pass-It-On (PIO) Awards honor Anita Borg’s desire to create a network of women technologists helping one another.

The cash awards, funded by donations from the Systers Online Community and others, are intended as means for women established in technological fields to support women seeking their place in the fields of technology. The program is called “Pass-It-On” because it comes with the moral obligation to “pass on” the benefits gained from the award.

Whitley Fund for Nature Awards

Whitley Awards enables winners to gain recognition as outstanding conservationists who are making real and long-lasting difference on the ground.

The Whitley Awards aim to champion passionate conservation leaders and effective communicators – individuals who inspire and who are supported by a committed team. Internationally recognised, the Whitley Awards are each worth £35,000 GBP in project funding, and are a significant boost for winners’ national and international profiles.

The Bentley Cropping Systems Fellowship

IDRC offers this Fellowship every two years in October to a Canadian, permanent resident of Canada, or citizen of a developing country. You must be a graduate student with a university degree in agriculture, forestry, or biology, and wish to undertake applied, on-farm research with cooperating farmers in one or more developing countries. 

Curtin University School of Psychology & Speech Pathology Top Up Scholarship

Applications are invited for a PhD student to be involved in an ARC funded project which will investigate consumers’ reactions to varying combinations of front-of-pack food labels and health claims.

The appointed student will need strong writing and analytical skills.  Previous academic qualifications could include health promotion, nutrition, and/or consumer behaviour. The successful candidate will work with an experienced team of researchers based at Curtin School of Psychology and Speech Pathology.

Secure $100,000 USD Grants for your Idea to Better the World – Genesis Generation Challenge

The Genesis Generation Challenge welcomes multi-disciplinary teams of young adults to propose big ideas to better the world. Each team must consist of approximately 10 individuals and must designate a team leader (age 20-36). Other team members must be 18 years or older.

Experience Microfinance in the Field with Kiva Fellows Program

The Kiva Fellows Program offers individuals a rare opportunity to put their skills to work in support of global microfinance. Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa

The Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship Programme in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) invites PhD supervisors from academic institutions in EMEA to submit their proposals for collaborative research projects with Microsoft Research Cambridge.

Applications are then peer reviewed and approximately 20 projects are selected for funding. PhD students are appointed to the selected projects and begin their research in the following academic year under the supervision of their academic supervisor, with co-supervision from a researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge.

Confucius China Studies Program Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship

The Confucius China Studies Program Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship provides generous funding and support for qualified students who wish to pursue their Ph.D. research in China.

Funding awards range from six months to two years. Students from a wide range of academic areas focusing on China are encouraged to apply.

This program provides substantial funding for Ph.D. dissertation research in China, and for the continuation of Chinese language study, from six months to up to two years. Award recipients are expected to further develop and improve their Chinese language skills for the duration of their grant.

Science and Technology Journalism Award for Students

Journalism students from accredited universities in Africa are invited to enter the 2014 Student Profile Awards for science and technology journalism.

The pan-African Student Profile Awards are supported by global engineering firm Siemens and endorsed by the Department of Science and Technology in South Africa.

The Awards aim to inspire students and aspiring young journalists to take an interest in finding, researching and writing science, engineering and technology stories. They also seek to highlight amongst student journalists the vital role that science journalists play in unpacking complex topics and telling stories that ordinary people can appreciate and understand.

AAUW International Fellowships, USA

AAUW International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Every year AAUW awards fellowships and grants to more than 200 women.

Fellowship Eligibility

The International Fellowships are not open to previous recipients of any AAUW national fellowship or grant (not including branch or local awards or Community Action Grants). Also, AAUW boards, committees, panels, task forces, staff and current interns are not eligible to apply for fellowship and grant awards.

QUT Vice-Chancellor's Research Fellowships
