Whitley Fund for Nature Awards

Whitley Awards enables winners to gain recognition as outstanding conservationists who are making real and long-lasting difference on the ground.

The Whitley Awards aim to champion passionate conservation leaders and effective communicators – individuals who inspire and who are supported by a committed team. Internationally recognised, the Whitley Awards are each worth £35,000 GBP in project funding, and are a significant boost for winners’ national and international profiles.

The Whitley Awards are open to biodiversity conservation leaders working in countries or regions of which they are nationals and that are NOT defined as a high-income economy by the World Bank (with exceptions). Applicants will ensure community involvement in their conservation project, and can show evidence of proven success and likelihood of future project sustainability.

The Whitley Awards 2015 will be presented by WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, at the annual Whitley Awards Ceremony in April/May 2015 and successful applicants will receive funding in June 2015.

The deadline for applications is 31st October 2014.
