Macquarie University 20 International PhD Scholarships (iMQRES)





The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) has announced that up to 20 full-time international research scholarships are available on a first-come-first-served basis for suitably qualified, newly commencing PhD candidates to enrol in Session 2, 2014.

These scholarships will be available for up to 3 years. They are only available to newly commencing full-time international PhD candidates who must enrol and take up this award before 15 December 2014. Failure to enrol before 15 December will result in forfeiture of award.


Preference may be given to prospective candidates seeking to study with one of Macquarie University's areas of research strength.

Eligibility
  • Applicants must be citizens of countries other than Australia or New Zealand, and not Australian Permanent Residents.
  • Applicants must be eligible for direct entry into a PhD program.
  • Candidates are expected to undertake full time, on-site candidature at Macquarie University.

Successful applicants will usually have:
  • an outstanding academic record;
  • a history of scholarships and prizes at the undergraduate level, and;
  • may have evidence of peer-reviewed research activity, such as publications and/or conference presentations.

Application
Applicants will need to complete a candidature/scholarship application form and arrange for two academic referee reports to be submitted to the Higher Degree Research Office. Macquarie University will advise the successful applicant of entitlements at the time of scholarship offer.

Closing date: 15 December 2014 or earlier if all scholarships are allocated
