Università della Svizzera Italiana Faculty of Informatics Bursaries

USI Università della Svizzera italiana organises a contest for 5 bursaries for the Faculty of Informatics for the academic year 2014/2015. Each bursary corresponds to the annual tuition fee.

It is renewable for two years, in the case of the Bachelor degree, and for one year, in the case of a Master degree, meaning that it may cover the tuition fee for the whole study programme.

Conditions for Participation
The contest is open to students who will start their first year of Bachelor or Master studies in September 2014 at the Faculty of Informatics of USI.

Students are invited to send their applications by e-mail to: borsestudio@usi.ch / studygrants@usi.ch

One part of the grants will be awarded to participants who apply by May 31st, 2014. They will be informed about the outcome of the contest by June 13th.

The rest of the grants will be given to candidates who submit their applications by July 31st, 2014. The results will be known by August 18th.

In the case of the Bachelor degree, only applicants who graduated from high school in 2014 with a cumulative grade point average of at least 5/6, for holders of a Swiss high-school diploma, or no less than 85/100, for those who obtained a high school diploma in another country, are eligible.

In the case of a Master degree, only candidates who completed their previous academic degree (usually the Bachelor’s) with a final GPA of at least 80/100 can participate. The candidate’s resume will also be considered. The decision will be made by a selected group from the Faculty of Informatics including the Academic Director of each Master programme.

Conditions for Renewal
The bursary may be renewed and cover the tuition fee for the second and third Bachelor study year or second Master study year as well. In order to benefit from the renewal, the candidate must pass all the exams of the study year within the three regular exam sessions of the academic year in question – winter, summer and autumn (i.e. before the new academic year starts) and keep an average grade of at least 8.5/10, in the case of the Bachelor degree, and of at least 8.5/10, in the case of a Master degree.
