A number of
scholarships and bursaries are available at the University of Central
Lancashire (UCLan) for self-funded international students applying for full-time taught
programmes of study.
THE VICE CHANCELLOR'S
INTERNATIONAL AWARD: £1,500 GBP
The Vice
Chancellor’s International Award is given to high achieving students to reward
their academic results. It is worth £1,500 GBP and is given per year of study
at UCLan and is available to students who are new to UCLan. (Other awards are
available for progressing students).
Who is
eligible:
- Undergraduate international
applicants with A- Levels or equivalent at grades BBB or above (300 UCAS
Tariff Points)
- Postgraduate taught
international applicants with the equivalent of a 2.1 Bachelor degree

How to
apply:
When you send us evidence of your academic grades with your UCLan application form, our International Admissions Team will assess your qualifications and award the scholarship if appropriate. You do not need to fill in a separate application form.

COUNTRY BURSARIES: £1,000 GBP
A Bursary
worth £1,000 GBP per year is available for undergraduate and postgraduate
taught applicants who are nationals of the following countries:
- CIS: Azerbaijan, Armenia,
Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine
- SADC: Angola, Botswana,
Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius,
Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, United Republic
of Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe
- S E Asia: Indonesia, Myanmar
- South Asia: Nepal, Sri Lanka
- Turkey
Appropriately
qualified applicants would also be eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s
International Award.

Only
applicants who are nationals of, and resident in the countries mentioned above
are eligible for this bursary.

This award
will be automatically given to students from the countries listed above when
your application is received by the International Admissions Team. You do not

POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
International
postgraduate applicants who have completed a UCLan undergraduate programme will
receive a 20% scholarship for their chosen postgraduate taught programme at
UCLan, Preston campus.
Who is
eligible:
- Applicants who have
completed a UCLan undergraduate programme or an undergraduate programme
from any of our international partner institutions.
How to
apply:
Whilst this scholarship will be shown on your offer letter, you will need to complete a form at enrolment. This award is available to international students who have completed their bachelor degree programme at UCLan or any of the international partner institutions listed above.

ARTICULATION SCHOLARSHIPS
This award
of £1,500 GBP per year (subject to satisfactory academic progression) is for
applicants from specific programmes in partner institutions worldwide that have
a formal articulation partnership link for advanced entry into a programme at
UCLan.

LANCASHIRE BUSINESS SCHOOL DEAN’S
MBA SCHOLARSHIPS
UCLan is
delighted to offer a range of scholarship opportunities for new international
fee paying students commencing the full-time MBA and MBA Fashion Brand
Management programmes in September 2014. The scholarships are awarded in the
form of a reduction in the tuition fee. The student is responsible for the
payment of the remainder of the tuition fee and living expenses for their
period of study.
There are a
number of awards:
- One award to the value of
7000 GBP
- One award to the value of
5000 GBP
- Four awards to the value of
2000 GBP
Candidates
for the Lancashire Business School Dean’s MBA Scholarships must complete the
questionnaire (see below).
All
applications will be assessed with consideration to the following: overall
presentation; originality of thought; fluency in communication of ideas;
evidence of motivation for study; ability to succeed and contribute to
university life.
Deadline for
receipt of applications is: 1 June 2014
Successful
applicants will be notified no later than two weeks after the application
deadline.

UCLAN MYANMAR SCHOLARSHIP 2014/15
UCLan
Lancashire is delighted to offer scholarship opportunities for new fee paying,
Myanmar students commencing a full-time, postgraduate taught programme in one
of three Schools in September 2014. The three Schools are: School of Journalism
and Digital Communication, School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences and the
School of Sport, Tourism and the Outdoors.
The
scholarships are awarded in the form of a reduction in the tuition fee for one
year. The student is responsible for the payment of the remainder of the
tuition fee and living expenses for their period of study. Awards are to the
value of £1,500 for the duration of the postgraduate programme of study and can
be utilised in addition to the Vice Chancellor Award (£1,500) and Myanmar
Bursary (£1,000). The number of awards and eligibility criteria are detailed on
the website.
Applications
that are unsuccessful for the UCLan Myanmar Scholarship Scheme will still
receive a £1,000 Myanmar Bursary and where appropriate, also the Vice
Chancellor Award (£1,500) in the form of a reduction in the tuition fee.

- Scholarships are not
transferrable and are available for entry in September 2014 only
- The scholarship is available
only to nationals and residents of Myanmar
- Applicants must be privately
funded (i.e., full fees being paid from their own or their family’s
resources)
- The chosen course must be of
at least one year’s duration, be offered on campus and lead to an academic
award of the University of Central Lancashire
- Applicants must not have
previously been enrolled on the same course, or a course leading to this
award (eg DipHE or PGDip)
- Applicants must be holding
an unconditional offer by 30 June 2014

EARLY PAYMENT BURSARY
An early
payment bursary of £300 GBP will be deducted from your fees if you pay your
fees in full at or before you enrol and if the tuition fees for the year of
study exceed £5,500. This bursary is only available for payments made on or before
1 October 2013 and no further extensions will be granted.
