Scholarships for MSc in Social Protection Financing in Sub-Saharan Africa

The University of Mauritius Trust, in partnership with IDRC, is offering a Master of Science in Social Protection Financing.


This intensive one-year degree program, which began in 2010, is designed to equip social security managers and financial specialists to meet the challenges of financing national social protection programs.

The University of Mauritius (UoM) will award a number of scholarships to successful applicants to the 2014-2015 program. They will cover travel, tuition, living expenses and medical coverage during the duration of the program, which will begin in August 2014.

Eligibility: 
The scholarships are only open to students from a sub-Saharan African country.
Priority for admission will be given to serving officials from African social security institutions and ministries (managers, actuaries, financial and policy analysts), and from organizations representing African workers and employers. Applicants outside the continent and with other professional and institutional backgrounds will also be considered.

Deadline for applications: April 30, 2014.
