The Graduate School is offering one or more full-time PhD scholarships researching 'Human Dimensions of Urban Water Security' in the Faculty of Environment and Technology (FET).
About the scholarship
This scholarship is funded by the Lloyds Register Foundation International Water Security Network and is part of an interdisciplinary research project involving three universities - UWE Bristol, Monash South Africa and the University of Arizona, USA, as well as a global network of partner institutions.
The student(s) appointed will be expected to play a significant role in interacting with the wider project and contributing to the overall programme of work.
Possible topics for studentships that would fit within the broader global research network include:
- Determinants of water consumption behaviour in cities
- Understanding and managing water-energy relations (the ‘water-energy nexus’) in port cities
- Socio-legal foundations of the near-inshore marine and estuarine environment
- Engineering cities for surface water management (water sensitive cities)
- Factors influencing water security in developing areas
You should read the water security scholarship further details document before making your application.
