Graduate Teaching and Research Studentships in Education and Social Work, University of Sussex, UK

Studentship applications are invited for Graduate Teaching and Research Assistants (GTRAs ) to commence 19th September 2013, for one, two or three years. Studentships cover the value of UK/EU tuition fees for up to three years, plus a bursary currently worth £7000 per annum.


Applications are welcomed from outstanding UK/EU or international applicants wishing to commence full or part time study for a doctorate as well as from those already undertaking doctoral study. It is a condition of application that GTRAs will be registered as doctoral students within the School of Education and Social Work.

Successful applicants will contribute either 5.5 hours per week (throughout the year) or 8 hours per week (term time only), towards research, teaching, e-learning, research dissemination and related activities, as negotiated with the relevant Research Centre or Cluster Director.

GTA/GRAs will be attached to one of the following research centres or cluster located within the School of Education and Social Work. Informal discussions should be with the relevant Research Centre/Cluster lead in the first instance:
