To improve its research outcomes and impact, the University
of South Africa (UNISA) annually takes on board postdoctoral fellows for a
duration of 1 year renewable on performance for 1 more year. The goal of the
programme is to support the development of highly competent and confident young
researchers who have solid research plans.
PS: This is a fulltime position and cannot be held concurrently with other fulltime or part-time positions. Staff from other universities will need to show proof of employment status from their Human Resources department, which indicates their working hours during the tenure of the fellowship.

ELIGIBILITY & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Doctoral qualification should not be older than 5 years at the time of the submission deadline for this call
2. Doctoral qualification should not have been obtained from UNISA
3. Permanent UNISA staff members do not qualify for this programme, irrespective of where the Doctoral degree was obtained
4. Contract staff at UNISA do not qualify for this programme unless their contracts do not run concurrently with the Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.
5. Staff members from other universities applying to this programme will have to provide a supporting letter from their human resources department clearly indicating their working hours and status of employment during the tenure of the award. Postdoctoral fellows are required to produce at least two publishable peer-reviewed research outputs during the tenure of the fellowship.

1. The applicant has to complete and submit this online application.
2. Upon receipt of an application, the Research Department will send an email to the official email addresses of the referees listed in the application.
3. All applications will be vetted by a committee comprising the prospective College of the applicant.
4. Successful applicants will be interviewed via videoconferencing or in-person at the Unisa Muckleneuk Campus in Pretoria.
