International Media Studies Scholarships, Germany



Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle invites journalists from around the world to apply for full scholarships to study in Bonn, Germany, in a Master’s program in International Media Studies. 

Fifteen applicants from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe will be granted the scholarships. The program is a four-semester, full-time program.

The International Media Studies Master's Program trains students to be competent journalists and prepares them for a challenging role as expert or manager in the media sector.

Students will acquire the knowledge and skills that are essential for a journalistic career.
They will be able to meet specific occupational requirements with expertise and communicative independence.

The Master's Program trains students - personally and professionally - to be competent journalists and prepare them for a challenging role as expert or manager in the media sector.

It combines topics including media and development, journalism, communication science and media economics, while helping students develop practical skills and competencies that are important in the world of media.

The program is a joint project of the University of Bonn, the Bonn Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and Deutsche Welle, with its headquarters in Bonn.

Applicants need a bachelor's degree and more than one year of professional experience in a media-related field.

As the Master's program is bilingual, applicants must have good verbal and written communication skills in German and English.

Application deadline is March 31.
