2015 - Science & Engineering Merit Extension Scholarship, Semester 2

Through the 2014 Curtin Innovative Merit Scholarships, Curtin University welcomes eligible students who are citizens of Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, India, Kenya, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
This scholarship category awards eligible students starting in Semester 1 or 2, 2014 25% of their first year of tuition. For students awarded a place in Curtin University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering through this Scholarship, the Faculty is proud to offer them an exciting opportunity to access an ongoing merit-based scholarship for the full duration of their program.

The Science and Engineering Merit Extension Scholarship is designed to award high achieving students, who commenced the first year of their program through the 2014 Curtin Innovative Merit Scholarship, a further 25% off each of their ongoing tuition fee providing they achieve and maintain a course weighted average (CWA) of 75 per cent or above.
Curtin University acknowledges the importance of being one of Australia's most multicultural university campuses and this scholarship aims to grow the trust and confidence in Curtin University as a place for students to further their studies, careers and life experiences.

Scholarship Value
The Science & Engineering Merit Extension Scholarship will provide 25% of annual tuition fee for full-fee paying international students who are eligible for the scholarship.

Eligible courses
All Undergraduate courses within the Faculty of Science & Engineering available to International Students. Please refer to Curtin's handbook at: http://international.curtin.edu.au/course-information.htm

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be considered for a Curtin Canning College Science International Bursary:
Must be citizens of Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, India, Kenya, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Zambia or Zimbabwe
Must have met Curtin University and course academic and English language entry requirements
Must be international, full fee-paying students, enrolled in a program of study through the 2014 Curtin Innovative Merit Scholarships
Must have commenced a full undergraduate degree in Semester 1 or 2, 2014 at Curtin University, Western Australia
Cannot be studying at Curtin via a sponsoring body
Must not have received any credits for recognised learning (CRL)
Students must achieve and maintain an ongoing course weighted average of 75% or above.
Please Note:
Course availability may result in a student not being able to continue a program of their choosing
Academic cut-off scores apply to the entry point of the program being applied for through the 2014 Curtin Innovative Merit Scholarships (to be eligible for consideration, minimum academic scores are detailed by country. Academic scores will differ according to program being applied for)

Conditions that need to be met to keep your scholarship
Unless there are exceptional circumstances such as, but not limited, to medical or family reasons, students must meet ALL of the following:
Must maintain a 'good standing' status
Must maintain full time studies of 100 credit points each semester
Must remain international students through the duration of the scholarship period (penalties may apply for students who withdraw or are terminated from their scholarship year)
Cannot defer the scholarship
Must maintain the specified course weighted average as outlined by the Faculty of Science and Engineering
Students who switch courses may no longer be eligible for the scholarship at the discretion of their School
