Waverley – African Studies Centre Joint Scholarship


The Waverley Fund aims to assist academically excellent students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have shown the potential to make a significant contribution in their future careers.


Candidates should be applying to start an MSc in African Studies. Deferred students are not eligible.
Eligible candidates must be ordinarily residents in the sub-Saharan Africa. Applicants must intend to return to their home country at the end of their studies.

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic merit.

The scholarship covers 100% of university and college fees, and a grant for living expenses of £13,590 p/a (including return flights).

Award is made for the full duration of a student’s fee liability for the agreed course.

The deadline for submitting application for the scholarship is 20 January 2012.
