A postdoc position for a fixed term of three years for high-dimensional single cell analysis of natural killer cell repertoires at K.G. Jebsen Center for Cancer Immunotherapy.
The Institute of Clinical Medicineare at the University of Oslo is looking for a highly motivated PhD with a strong background in bioinformatics/computational biology. The project concerns the mechanisms underlying the functional diversification of human natural killer cells. Studies of
immunological diversity in populations are combined with assessment of high-dimensional single cell data generated by RNASeq, flow cytometry and CyTOF. The candidate will work at the interface of immunology, cancer and informatics. Immune informatics is a nascent field with many challenging tasks ahead. Depending on qualifications of the applicant, the position may offer the possibility to develop an independent line of research within the overall scope of the research program. The position is placed in a collaborative setting between the groups of Malmberg and Hovig providing a combined broad area of competence in immune informatics and cancer biology.
Eligibility and Qualifications
The candidate must have a PhD in bioinformatics or computational biology equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in Medicine/Life sciences. Successful applicants must have obtained their degree prior to taking on the position. Candidates should have a strong, documented background in bioinformatics/computational biology. Competence within a relevant high level programming language is necessary. Previous experience in immunological research is preferable. In connection with the appointment of the post-doctoral position, we will accord special weight to academic skills; particularly demonstrated excellence in research, a strong dedication and excellent communication skills.
