The University awards scholarships each year to national and international level athletes who are studying or are about to study at Birmingham. These awards provide financial and specialist support to talented young athletes.
UBSport offers gold, silver and bronze scholarships depending on your current level of competition. See below for details of each scholarship tier including requirements and benefits.
Annual award: £6,000
Selection criteria: Student athletes competing at Senior International standard.
Annual award: £5,000
Selection criteria: Student athletes competing at junior international or senior national standard.
Annual award: £3,500
Selection criteria: Student athletes competing at national standard or currently representing their county and have been talent ID by NGB as potential national standard athlete.
Scholarships are open to all students irrespective of nationality or course.
Individuals cannot receive both a UBSport scholarship and TASS scholarship in the same academic year but are encouraged to apply for both (if relevant) in the first instance.
We welcome applications from prospective students, even if they have not yet received an offer, or had a place confirmed at the University.
Scholarships are reviewed annually and we encourage applications from any year of study.
The application process for individual sport scholarship awards 2015-16 is now open and closes on 8 June 2015.
