2015 Sussex Graduate Scholarship





The University of Sussex is proud to offer an unlimited number of Masters scholarships to encourage high achieving Sussex undergraduates to stay with the University to study for a full-time Masters degree.


The scholarships are available to students graduating from Sussex and progressing immediately on to full-time Masters studies at the University (excluding courses at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and IDS). The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance and only for the first year of postgraduate studies in the case of two year full-time masters degrees and 1+3 courses.

If you achieve a first-class honours degree you are eligible for a £3,000 award. If you achieve an upper second-class honours degree you are eligible for a £2,000 award.

Eligibility
In order to be considered for a Sussex Graduate Scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:
• You must be a University of Sussex graduate progressing immediately onto an eligible full-time Masters degree in 2015 (see below);
• You must achieve a first- or upper second-class undergraduate honours degree from the University of Sussex in 2015.
• You must have applied for your chosen full-time Masters degree by 1 August 2015 and have accepted and met the conditions of your offer; and
• You must meet the University's entrance requirements
The scholarship relates to all full-time taught Masters degree courses at the University of Sussex (e.g. MA, MSc, LLM) excluding the following courses:
• Postgraduate diplomas (including Common Professional Examination (CPE), Law and Economics)
• Masters degrees in Social Work (if receiving a bursary)
• Social Work post qualifying Masters degrees
• PGCE courses and schools direct teaching courses
• MSc Automotive Engineering
• MA degrees in IDS apart from the MA Gender and Development and the MA in Climate Change and Development
• Masters degrees at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School
In addition, masters students who are funded by the research councils (e.g. those receiving ESRC 1+3 funding are not eligible).

Application procedure
You must apply for admission to an eligible Masters course via the University's PG Apply online application system between 1 October 2014 and 1 August 2015.
If you are made an offer, you will be asked to indicate your interest in the Sussex Graduate Scholarship when you accept your offer online.

Timetable
The deadline for application to an eligible Masters course is 1 August 2015.
