Special Encouragement Scholarship Admission for International Students, Ritsumeikan University, Japan



In order to extend enrollment possibilities to outstanding graduate-level international students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, Ritsumeikan University's Graduate Schools have established a special application procedure to admit students with 100% Tuition Reduction, effective in September 2013.

This scholarship awards a 100% reduction to tuition for the standard duration for the appropriate program (2 years for Master's, 3 years for Doctoral, or 5 years for integrated Doctoral), based on Ritsumeikan University's "2013 Ritsumeikan University Special Encouragement Scholarship (Tuition Reduction Scheme) for Privately Financed International Students (Graduate Students Category I)."

Eligibility
To apply for the Special Encouragement Scholarship Admission (100% Tuition Reduction), applicants must:

  • Hold non-Japanese nationality.
  • Newly enter Japan for the purpose of study.
  • Acquire a "Student" Visa and Status of Residence prior to enrolling at Ritsumeikan

Applications will be accepted for English-based and Japanese-based programs. Please be sure to read through the application guidelines and fill out the application forms for the appropriate language, as listed below. A total of 30 students (20 Master's level and 10 Doctoral level) will be selected from among the applicants to programs in both languages.

The Application period for 2013 Admissions is Nov 5 - Dec 3, 2012.
