The University of Nottingham Dean of Engineering Research Scholarship for International Excellence 2014





Twenty prestigious scholarships are available to outstanding international students registering on research degrees within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham from September 2014.

This highly competitive, prestigious scholarship is to recognise and reward applications from outstanding international students registering on engineering research degree programmes at The University of Nottingham.


We are looking for applications from exceptional students who are seriously committed to furthering the boundaries of engineering, students who are excited about the prospect of working with some of the world’s leading researchers and who aspire to be the best in their profession.

The Award
Ten full tuition fee scholarships worth up to £16,510 per year  of study (based on 2013/2014 fees)
Ten full tuition fee scholarships with stipend for the most outstanding candidates only. Stipends are worth £800 per month
Up to a maximum of three years

The high value of this award reflects the University’s aim to attract the best students from around the world and to support them during their study.

Research Opportunities
The faculty conducts research in a wide range of areas in engineering science and applications, ranging from advanced composite materials and 3D printing, to energy technologies and biochemical engineering.

We particularly welcome applicants with interests related to the University Priority Groups:
• Aerospace
• Energy
• Advanced Manufacturing

Conditions for the award
Candidates should normally have a first class degree or MSc with distinction (or international equivalent). Work experience, journal   papers published and other esteem indicators (prizes, top in class  etc) will be considered
Applicants must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a  place on a full-time research degree programme at The  University of Nottingham UK Campus before submitting a  scholarship application
Applicants must be classified as an international student for fees purposes
Scholarships awarded must be taken up between 1st September and 1st December 2014
Continuation of the award is subject to satisfactory progress
